    Hi Joel,
I know you may discount this, but consider the following evidence given in the URL below:
You met me at at dinner in Brookline, MA. I am the one who was concerned that some amongst us Jews might seek separate status because some Jews may have blood related diseases, i.e., RH Negative

The American Red Cross is one of more than 145national societies that make up the League of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. (Governments recognized the crescent as a protective emblem in 1929.) In addition, the American Red Cross works closely with the nonmember Amgen David Adam society of Israel. The League encourages its member societies to work together to relieve suffering from major natural disasters.

I began researching this after reading Leviticus, and wondering why was there such a fixation on blood in those days?

The name of the disease is said to be: PORPHYRIA VARIEGATA. It causes skin sensitivity to sunlight.
It has to do with missing precursors for making heme in the MtDNA.

Although the following may seem insensitive, I only post it here because I know as a Jew that the following description is the same way cows are killed in the Jewish religion.

Africans captured by mumiani (Germans) in colonial Tanganyika were hung upside down, their throats were cut, and their blood drained into huge buckets.

I will submit you more evidence if this theory continues to be supported by sufficient evidence.

I am so sorry for the terrible implications this would mean if it were true. Would what I am suggesting not be true, but if it is, the truth must be faced.

    Best regards,

    Susan
